How to Get the Right Mindset to Lose Weight

You think that going on a diet is going to be the answer to losing weight.

The reason you are over weight is because you eat more than your body needs. True.

BUT have you ever asked yourself why you eat more than your body needs?

You over eat because of what you THINK. It’s because of your current mindset.

If you want to lose weight permanently the first thing you have to change is your mindset.

STOP beating yourself up.

We think that when we tell ourselves that we are too fat, it’s going to fuel us to stop eating and lose weight.

The opposite is true.

We beat ourselves into submission. We use willpower to prevent ourselves from eating, for a time, and when the will power inevitably runs out, we eat even more. We feel even more terrible about ourselves. Not only do we think we are fat, disgusting, we add that we are incapable of controlling ourselves to the list of insults.

Stop it!

The beating up feel useful but it’s not.

It’s possible that you can love your current body and lose weight. In fact, once you love your body, that’s when you want to take care of it. It’s the first mindset shift you must make to lose weight permanently.

I know it’s probably a long shot for you to believe that you love your body.

So start at neutral. Instead of hating your body, notice that you have a body. Practice this thought “I have a body”.

Try and approach yourself with compassion. It feels so much better and it’s the first step to creating the results you truly want.
