I was sitting at work, opening my drawer to find my stash of chocolate. “Just one more won’t hurt. I’ve worked so hard. I deserve it.”
It had been 3 years since I’d had my last baby and I was the heaviest I had ever been.
I went home and ate our usual dinner with an alcoholic cider. “Just one more won’t hurt. I’ve worked so hard. I deserve it.” That thought again…
I was feeling terrible about myself in general. What was really weird was that I had everything I had always wanted. An amazing husband, two healthy kids, a part time job in community development, living in Sydney near family and friends… But I didn’t feel satisfied.
So, I ate and drank to feel better. The result – a me I liked even less.
Fast forward 1 year. I was in the US attending a 6 day in person event to become a certified Life and Weight Coach. I was learning tools that had helped thousands of women lose weight already. So I started using those tools on me whilst I was there.
I started understanding the real reasons why I was eating. I had new tools so I didn’t have to use will power to refrain from eating sweets any more.

When I got home I kept using the tools and I lost more than 10% of my body weight in the next 6 months. I had my pre baby body back (with the stretch marks and caesarean scars that I now love). I knew without a doubt that I could maintain my desired body weight forever. That’s an amazing feeling.
