When Success Holds us Back

Sometimes when we are about to succeed we shrivel up and our brain would prefer us to fail
When we are about to succeed, or when we do succeed, we have stepped into the next version of ourselves, when we surpass our upper limit and we freak the fuck out!

Last week I looked back at what I had achieved this year, launching a business, achieving a body I aimed for, quitting chocolate, building a website, working consistently on my business, meeting a huge goal at Toastmasters, organising a school disco… And then last week I freaked out because I know I’m well on my way to success. I gorged myself on chocolate cake, I stopped working, I found lots of excuses to eat chips, to drink alcohol, to not schedule to feel overwhelmed and not do any work because I could see how inevitable success is.

I just wanted to tell you that your lower brain is trying to keep you in the cave, and guess what I did? I sat down with my schedule. I worked out how I could recommit to myself. To pick up where I left off and work towards my inevitable success.

Phew, I didn’t realise that kicking arse could feel so incredibly challenging! But I also feel accomplished, useful and whole. I wouldn’t have it any other way.
